Play Patriotic Bingo Family Fun!
Before I tell you about these Patriotic Bingo cards, which are free
printables, I would like to remind you that often what children remember
later in life are the small things we do for them, such as enjoying a
Family Bingo Night. There's nothing better than an old-fashioned game
where you sit around the kitchen table, relaxing and visiting with each
other, to keep you in touch with what's really happening as a family
(that goes beyond a quick text message here and there throughout the
day). Just remember that this may seem like a simple, nonsense thing to
you but it can really help children to feel secure in themselves and
their place in the family, as well as to have better communication with
you, sisters, or brothers, and other extended family members who may be
living with you.
I know that a lot of parents think they have an open line of
communication with their children because they ask “What went on in
school today?” and get a reply “Not much.” A question like this can
often feel to the child like being put on the spot. This can make kids
close down and not really want to talk at all, even if something did “go
on” at school that day. However, starting a Family Bingo Night can give
your child a more relaxed and easy open line of communication to you, in
a fun environment, that can pay back many rewards. Sometimes just
talking while having fun can work itself around to being a more serious
conversation. When children become teenagers and remember how easy it is
to talk to you, it is more likely that you will hear about the important
stuff that is happening in their lives.
So start a tradition of Family Bingo Night now, and play Patriotic Bingo
for fun, or use for a Patriotic event.
Patriotic Bingo is an easy game and can be enjoyed by kids of all ages!
Everything you need is provided; all you have to do is print the

You’ll need to:
(Printer Friendly Instructions)
Print the Patriotic Bingo cards, as many as you wish to print from the
15 cards offered. (The number of cards in any of our free bingo game
card sets may vary.)
Print the Patriotic Bingo call sheet offered with each Patriotic Bingo
game.
You can use colored markers, colored pencils, crayons, or regular bingo
daubers. You can also our coins as markers.
You’ll need two plastic bowls, bags, small boxes to use to hold the Call
Cards. One bag is for the call sheet pictures or words and the second
bowl for the call letters, example B-I-N-G-O. After you print these
sheets, cut apart the call cards and the letter cards, and keep in
separate piles.
Here’s how to play:
1. Give all players an unmarked bingo card and a supply of printed
markers (or a colored marker, pencil, or pen). One player can also act
as the Call Person, or someone who is not playing can be the Call
Person. Put the call cards in a bowl, bag, or box and shake to mix them.
Do the same with the call letters in a separate bowl, bag, or box.
2. To begin, the Call Person draws one call letter and then draws a call
card. Announce the letter and the word or image on the call card, such
as saying “N, Red Candle” (you may want to also show these to the
players, which really helps the younger children who are playing).
3. The players find the letter and then look down that column for the
image or word. For the example, each player finds the letter N at the
top of the card, and looks down that row of five boxes. If there a
Baseball in one of those boxes, they put a marker on it (or put an X
through it if using pen, pencil, or marker). If the player does not find
that image or word in the letter column that is called, nothing is
marked.
4. The Call Person sets the letter card and the image to the side, and
then draws a new letter card and call card from the piles. Announce the
letter and the call card (and shown them to the players).
5. The players look for the letter and then the image or word. If it is
found, it is marked.
6. The play continues until one player has BINGO! Bingo is all boxes
marked in a single column, in a single row, or diagonally (one corner to
another corner). Remember, one or more boxes is marked FREE!, which
means that you can make BINGO in that column, row, or on the diagonal if
you mark the other four boxes.
7. Play the game as many times as you need to so that everyone wins!
